Who are we?

Nestled in the south of Johannesburg, MF Feeds is a warm, family‑run feed store, stable yard and farm, where heartfelt animal care meets practical experience. Our journey began with Megan, who has been loving, riding, and competing horses for over 20 years. It's through nurturing her own horses that she developed a deep dedication to providing optimal nutrition. A passion that now stands at the heart of everything we do.

As a family, we also farm Boran cattle, plant teff and grow maize, a synergy that perfectly supports our feed‑first philosophy.

What sets us apart:

  • Expertise in Horse & Cattle Nutrition: Megan’s hands-on experience and competitive background ensure reliable guidance on feeding, performance, and wellbeing.
  • Homegrown Feed Ingredients: Our maize yields part of the feed blends we provide, offering both transparency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Family Values, Community Service: Walk into our store and feel like part of the family, where every animal matters and customers are treated like neighbors.

Visit MF Feeds and experience our difference: personal care, proven animal partnerships, and down-to-earth expertise straight from our family to yours.

About Us

At our family-run animal feed company, we pour our hearts into every bag of feed we produce, driven by a deep love for animals and a commitment to the community we serve. Born from our own experiences running a stable yard and cattle farm, we saw a need for a feed partner that farmers and animal lovers could truly rely on—one that understands the weight of a late delivery or an empty stock shelf. With decades of hands-on care for our horses, cattle, rescues, and family pets, we know that reliability, open communication, and quality feed can make all the difference in keeping animals healthy and businesses thriving. Our story is rooted in moments that remind us why we do this. One memory stands out: when we started our cattle farm, a calf we named Big Ben was born too large for his mother, with a deformity in his legs that left him unable to stand or nurse. Determined to give him a chance, we milked his mother every day, bottle-feeding him and fitting his tiny legs with splints until he could stand on his own.
